Senior Lean Business Consultant |
|
Well-known, respected manufacturing consulting firm is seeking a dynamic industry
professional with experience in executing and transforming manufacturing operations
--specifically, creating sustainable change through the implementation of lean manufacturing
concepts on the shop floor and within the manufacturing support operations.
Relevant experience must include working or consulting in a lean manufacturing
environment with production or operations management experience. Strong leadership
required with knowledge of a broad range of manufacturing processes.
Required Attributes
- 10+ years of relevant manufacturing/operations experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business
- Minimum 5 years experience in a leadership role with full P&L responsibilities
- Minimum 2 years experience as a professional business consultant
- Trained and proficient in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or Shainin Black Belt methodologies
- Expertise and application of the principles of lean manufacturing and hands-on application on the shop floor. Experience related to a successful Brownfield conversion
- Flexible to assume project member or project leader based on company needs and available resources
- Entrepreneurial spirit with high personal initiative - self directed
- Demonstrated strong project management skills with successful track record
- Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams
- Statistical aptitude with strong quantitative and analytical skills
- Excellent interpersonal communications with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
- Must be a team player that solicits diverse ideas and viewpoints and possess strong facilitation, teaching and coaching skills
- Proficient computer/database management skills with process mapping and documentation skills
- Proven track record driving systems thinking and process orientation throughout the organization
- Must be able to travel 80% of the time -- domestically and internationally
Other Desirable Attributes
- MS, MBA or advanced degree preferred
- Foreign language skills to support our Asia and European-based clients
- Experienced in leading and conducting focused Kaizen events, as required, to reduce lead times, manufacturing costs and/or improve quality
- Familiar with the concepts of Value Stream Mapping and how to translate into sustainable shop floor improvements
